Join Global Learner Support as we recognize, celebrate, and showcase the writing of Northeastern University students as part of our annual Academic Writing Showcase!

Our mission is to assist you in developing as an academic communicator in ways that honor your linguistic background and identity. Through our Academic Writing Showcase, we strive to challenge how academic writing is viewed across different disciplines.

We invite you to submit an academic piece that you are proud of, from any course you’ve taken at Northeastern University. After submitting your work, you will be introduced to a coach, who will provide feedback during a one-on-one meeting. Once you’ve incorporated the coach’s suggestions, you’ll have a second meeting for a final review before officially submitting your work for evaluation.

Submissions will be evaluated on the following:

  • Structure and Organization
  • Flow and Coherence
  • Vocabulary and Word Choice
  • Sentence Structure and Grammar
  • Style and Academic Integrity

To review the rubric that will be used by the evaluators, click here.

Participants meeting the required criteria listed below will receive a digital badge. Selected participants will be invited to present at GLS’s Academic Writing Showcase in April 2025.

Digital Badge Criteria:

  • Attend at least two coaching sessions with GLS staff to receive feedback on submission.
  • Demonstrate understanding of feedback through application, revision, and editing of submission.
  • Adhere to Academic Writing Showcase timeline and expectations, including final submission deadline.
